HARSH INTEROGATION OR TORTURE?
Is it immoral or inhumane to subject a known terrorist to cold, wet conditions for a few hours to gain information that might save the lives of our fellow Americans? How about keeping him awake for extended periods of time? How about putting a spider in his cell? Maybe making him stand up all day? HAVE WE LOST OUR MINDS? Uncomfortable, sure. Torture, no. BOOT CAMP IS TOUGHER THAN THIS!!! Torture is breaking bones, chopping off heads. See the difference? (I might draw the line at subjecting them to loud rap music for extended periods of time. That really is torture.)
For all you Kool Aid drinkers out there, think about it this way. If someone were to kidnap your child, and you could find them and save their life by pouring a little water up the kidnapper’s nose (waterboarding), would you let your child die instead? I know which I would choose.
Be honest. This is about the Left trying to discredit George Bush, even if it means putting our country at greater risk. Makes you proud to be a Democrat, doesn’t it?
Illegal immigrants raising children in poverty in the U.S.
So it finally comes to light that illegal immigrants raising children in the U.S. is a problem. http://www.voanews.com/english/2009-04-14-voa55.cfm
I have an idea on the top of my head that would take care of this. How about we patrol the boarder and don’t let them in. Problem solved. Just a side note. How many of the illegals coming into this country are running drugs for the cartels? With the number of people coming in to the country illegal, it looks like an invasion. Kind of like Mexico is waging a secret war to get land back that they lost.
Easter
Happy Easter to everyone.
ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS AND REDUCED TUITION
The Democrats in Colorado want to reward illegal behavior by giving illegal immigrants in-state tuition rates at our colleges. (Senate Bill 170) According to Sen. Chris Romer, D-Denver, “This is a bill that will decrease taxes, cut the teen pregnancy rate, reduce crime, and give hope to kids who through no fault of their own are in as untenable situation”. (It seems like an admission that illegals are creating big problems.)
But here is what REALLY ticks me off:
The Democrats argue against giving the same break to our Veterans!!! Rep. Jack Pommer, D-Boulder, says if military veterans were offered discounts, other students would have to pick up the tab. He said colleges and universities face $300 million in cuts next year, forcing them to find ways to make up the difference. He says “I’m reluctant to ask them to take on this burden when we are already increasing tuition substantially.”
Republicans question changes to vet tuition bill – The Denver Post
Durango Herald News, Rally backs in-state tuition for illegal immigrants
What twisted priorities these people have, putting illegal aliens in line ahead of our veterans? Are you serious?? Are we not paying attention out there? You Democrats must be really proud of where your party is going.
A NOTE TO JAY CUTLER…
From a long time Bronco fan who has tried their best to support you, good riddance . You have shown an immaturity beyond even what we have come to accept from overpaid, spoiled, professional athletes. You might be talented, but until you grow up, you aren’t worth fighting over. NA-NA-NA-NA, NA-NA-NA-NA, …….HEY, HEY, GOODBYE!!
ANOTHER TAX CHEAT
Health and Human Services nominee Kathleen Sebelius is the latest of many Obama picks that has failed to pay their taxes. Is this some kind of ”litmus test” he uses when selecting people to help run the country or what?
Ho-hum. Another Obama nominee doesn’t pay taxes | csmonitor.com
Maybe that’s why the Democrats are always raising taxes on us, they don’t plan to pay theirs anyway.
Illegal immigrants and driver liscences
I thought this was an interesting story.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/03/27/AR2009032703555.html?hpid=topnews
Illegal immigrants are obtaining driver liscences fraudulently in Maryland. According to the article, Maryland is prosecuting people that are caught. Even though they are getting caught, I’ll bet that they aren’t being deported as they should be.
My trip to ISU
I just got back from my trip to Illinois State University. I’m all set up and am just waiting to start now. Anyway I should have some new posts coming soon.
VETERANS CARE UPDATE
As predicted in yesterdays blog, Obama has “seen the light” in regards to his notion that the government could save money by dropping responsibility for the care of our wounded veterans. It’s hard to believe that he didn’t anticipate the backlash that would follow.
I worry about what else he has up his sleeve.
OBAMA “NOT RESPONSIBLE” FOR AIG?
This post is not to discuss the AIG bonuses themselves. That is a topic of its own. But when the news of the big bonuses came out, the first point that President Obama stressed was that his administration was not responsible. Maybe, or maybe not, but the point is that he has made the same claim several times on other issues like the bail out, earmarks, etc. There seems to be a pattern developing. He has been quick to remind us again and again how he inherited a bad economy, but wasn’t his promise fix to the economy the main focus of his campaign?
Mr. President, you wanted this job, and you’ve got it, at least for the next four years. Take a lesson from President Bush. When he stood before the country after 9/11, I don’t remember him making an issue about it not being his fault. His focus was on what to do about it.
Stop worrying about 2012. The last campaign was long enough.
