A True American Voice

America has lost it’s identity… Let’s get it back.

Illegal immigrants and driver liscences

I thought this was an interesting story.

 http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/03/27/AR2009032703555.html?hpid=topnews

Illegal immigrants are obtaining driver liscences fraudulently in Maryland.  According to the article, Maryland is prosecuting people that are caught.  Even though they are getting caught, I’ll bet that they aren’t being deported as they should be.

‘Octomom’ is prime example of slipping personal responsibility

You’ve probably seen her in the news recently.  Nadya Suleman, the women that birthed octuplets on January 26th.  The new additions to her family make a total of 14 children.  All of her children were conceived using in virto fertilization .  She is 33 years of age, single and unemployed.  With six kids already, why would she opt for more children when it’s obvious that she has no means by which to support them?  It’s as if she treats them like teddy bears, a comfort item.  She is the most selfish and uncaring person I’ve seen in quite some time.  To inject children into that kind of environment is insane.

This leads me to my point.  What you see here is an example of a recession of personal responsibility in our country.  Meaning people are passing the buck to others rather than taking responsibility for their mistakes and choices.  Look at ‘Octomom’, she’s now receiving aid from all over the place.  Hundreds of thousands of dollars are being thrown her way because people are feeling sorry for her.  I would hope that those donors are concerned about the children more than the mother but that’s hard to determine considering there are many different motives.  Many donors could be after the publicity and some may have a genuine care.  I’m truly concerned about the way the attitude in this country is headed.  Is ‘Octomom’ setting a precedence here?  Someone else is bound to jump on board and have 15 kids because somebody else will care for them.

Planned Parenthood for example allows people to deny responsibility for there actions through the services they provide.  Again, someone else will take care of the problem.  This lack of personal responsibility doesn’t stop with pregnancy or child birth.  I see it on a daily basis with my junior Marines.  It’s a noticable difference in the attitudes from when I joined five years ago to now.  One of the biggest things taught to us is to take responsibility for our actions.  With the new Marines that I encounter today, it seems that very few of them are willing to do that.  The majority will either pass blame to another or play what I like to call the ‘PFC don’t know’ game.  Basically plead ignorance.  I know for a fact they didn’t learn that in Boot Camp.  The only reasonable explanation for this would be cultural influence.  This isn’t limited to my Marines but extends to the general population of the country.

The cultural influence that I’m referring to is the constant coddling that we keep receiving from big government.  Namely Democrats.  Democrats preach day in and day out to people that everything will be o.k., we’ll take care of you, it’s not your fault, you’ve got nothing to worry about.  What is this, a day-care center for adults?  People need to take an interest in their own lives and be responsible for their actions.  If you choose not to work or put yourself in financial trouble because you wanted the BMW on a CIVIC salary or want 14 kids but don’t have a way to care for them, fine.  I don’t care, but don’t expect someone else to shoulder the burden and take care of you.

Fortunately, there are still some level-headed Americans.  Without them, there’s no telling what position we would be in.

Democrat or Democratic?

One thing that really gets me fired up is when I hear somebody in conversation call Democrats the ‘Democratic Party’. Just to clarify, ‘Democratic’ is a word that described a government not a political party. The correct reference to Democrats is ‘Democrat Party’.

Holder’s remarks

After reading this article, http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/03/07/obama-discusses-holders-cowards-comment/, I started thinking about minorities and race and other things that go with it.  We’re segregated into ethnic and race groups, labeled minorities and majorities, and people feel guilty about things that happened too many years ago.  When it comes to racism, sure there are white people that are racist, the minorities are the ones that are keeping racism alive.  They segregate themselves, refer to each other by racial slur, and hate people of different races.  Obviously there are exception and not all are like this.  I have a lot of black friends and I hear it all the time, “nigger”, when they talk to each other.  Let a person of a different race say it and look out but they can call the white boy, “cracker”, any time they want.

What needs to happen is, stop viewing individuals as minorities or majorities.  We’re all American.  We need to get rid of Affirmative Action.  A white person would never get a job he is less qualified for just because of his skin color so why should anyone else?  You’re either qualified and the best person for the job or you’re not.  White people need to quit worrying whether or not they are going to hurt somebodies feelings.  People in America today have not owned slaves and do not own slaves.  We are not responsible for things that happened so many years ago.  Black individuals today are not slaves and have not been slaves.  They need to stop acting like they have been.  With that said, there should be no guilt by any party and no one owes the other an apology, sympathy, or money.

Lets takle this thing and move on.  Every one can enjoy life a little more if this issue is not hanging over their head.
